My last name ("Patton") is somewhat common. This page is here to show all the occurances I know of.

Searches

Here are some searches (these all use google, if you really want a different search engine, try letting me know and I'll consider an option for that):

First a simple search for the name. That finds (for me, right now, YMMV) a lot of references to the famous WW-II General with that name. I do not know if he's a relative. If you're interested in him, that's OK.

But let's try a search excluding him. That still found pictures of Iron Guts, but lots of other pages, including an electronics company and several municipalities. See below for that list. So this search might be a good start if you're trying to find some other Patton.

So the following sections list the Pattons I've found with these searches, in no special order. The interesting feature (as of searches in early 2014) is that I don't see lots of hits for the pop singer with the same name as me (even the same middle initial, although the middle name is different), I used to get a bunch of matches that were about him. When I made up this page, I had to do a special search to get the link for him below.

Personalities

• Comedian Patton Oswalt may be the best known, and the only use of "Patton" as a first name that I've seen. In addition to his official web page (that I linked on his name), there's also a Wikipedia page for him.
• In certain circles the singer Mike Patton may be better known. I couldn't find anything that resembled an "official" page for him (that's why the name here isn't a link), but there is a Wikipedia page as well as many others as this search will probably show you.
• Camille H. Patton (IMDb) - Casting Director and Producer
• comedian Sean Patton

Other People

• My nephew Evan Patton, PhD has a web site as well as appearing several other places on the net, but I'm sure not all the matches to the name are him. His name is not as common as mine, but common enough.
• Another nephew, Matthew (Evan's brother) served in the Army until his death. Matt's family has established the Matthew Patton Foundation to honor his memory and to work for better mental health care in the military. You can look at the foundation's "Our Story" page for some other relatives (my brother John and his wife, Matthew's parents, and Evan, his older brother, again)
• Andrew J. Patton - Professor at Duke University (I had another nephew named Andrew, but this is not him, he was A. Smith)

Municipalities

• Pennsylvania seems to have official pages for both a Borough of Patton as well as a Patton Township. They may be related, but I didn't see anything obvious and fail to be inspired to look any harder.

Commercial enterprises

• Patton Electronics sells various electronics (mostly networking and related gear). I remember when they used to sell a wide selection of RS232 communications gear...back when I was doing that.
• Patton Products makes fans and heaters.
• Patton & Associates a law firm in Kansas City, MO.
• Patton & Ryan is another law firm, this one in Illinois and Indiana (the greater Chicago area apparently).

Miscellaneous

• a web comic by Angela Patton.
• Camp Patton is a blog by a mother, named Grace Patton, mostly about her kids. I don't think we're related, but you never know.
